STOP! Your Words Have Power!

Last night on our "Keeping It Real" Session hosted by Prophetess Genesis Turner of Hurting Women's Ministry and myself (co-host), we discussed the topic of being tired.  The women were posed with a statement in which they were to fill in the blank.  It goes like this "I am just so tired of __________"!

Many of the fill-in words were as follows:
  • being cheated on
  • being alone (single)
  • giving and not receiving
  • fake religion
  • church
  • waiting for a husband
  • forgiving
  • struggling financially
  • pretending
  • failing
  • not feeling loved
The list went on.  How many of you can identify with any of these?  I'm sure some of you do and probably have a few more to add.

Another issue we are tired of is WAITING! Yes we grow weary of waiting for a breakthrough, waiting for the restoration of our marriages, waiting for a husband, waiting to be blessed, waiting for change in our churches, waiting for healing, waiting for promotion, waiting for deliverance, waiting for our season! Only you know what you yourself are waiting for as well.

The word of God says "And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't get discouraged and give up." ~ Galatians 6:9 TLB

We clearly know where our help comes from because we bombard heaven with our cries! Right? Therefore, in doing so we are saying to God "our hope is in You, we trust and believe that You will have favor upon us and release what we stand in needing."

Now this is where I want to bring your attention to: YOUR WORDS!

We all know that the bible says in Proverbs 18:21 "death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit."

In that place of being "tired"and/or "waiting" we have a tendency to complain which is sin and it shows an attitude that you are ungrateful and bitter which can lead to disobedience.

Rather than speaking life and proclaiming God's word during our moments of weariness, we speak death. As long as we continue to say "we are tired" - guess what? YOU will be tired whether mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually!  Stop saying you're tired!  Our words carry weight!

It's amazing that we are quick to proclaim that "no weapons formed against us shall prosper"when others come against us whether in word or deed. Yet we neglect to recognize the times when the weapons formed are coming straight from our own mouths!

Let's look at that particular scripture: No weapon formed against you shall prosper and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their righteousness is from me, says the LORD." (Isaiah 54:17)

Notice that it speaks of the tongue and WE need to condemn the words. Meaning we have to break the words that rises against us by others and/or the words our own tongue has spoken - breaking the power behind them.

Have you noticed that throughout the bible, God commands those to "speak"?  There is a reason. Every person who spoke did not speak their own word but His Word!

In Psalm 103:20-21 it says "Bless the LORD, You His angels mighty in strength, who perform His word obeying the voice of His word.  Bless the LORD all you His hosts, you who serve Him, doing His will."

Do you know that when you pray and speak the word of God that angels are waiting to perform His word. They obey the voice of His word.  The voice of His Word that is coming forth out of your mouth!

And just the same that the angels are waiting so are the fallen angels. An example is found in this scripture: "Do not be afraid Daniel for from the first day that you set your heart to understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your word were heard and I have come in response to your word. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days.  Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia" (Daniel 10:12)

When we spew out negative words we are keeping the enemy and his cohorts busy all the while angels are sitting bored in heaven waiting for a word so they can come to earth and perform it on your behalf! Of course it is subject to God's will and timing!

Let us not be deceived to fall into the trap of hosting pity parties when we are going through a time of hardships, afflictions and waiting.  Yes, we all go through moments in our life where we grow tired of many things but we must not fall prey to speaking nor repeating what the enemy says but rather what God says!
Get into the Word of God and get the Word of God in you so you can speak those things that aren't as if they were- speak life, prophesy over your self!

For God knows the plans He has for you (Jeremiah 29:11) and we have this promise as we wait for it to unfold:

"Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength.  They will mount up with wings of eagles.  They will run and not get tired.  They will walk and not become weary." ~ Isaiah 40:31 NASB

Let's agree with God's plans and speak them! God bless....
