Good Friday

Good Friday
by Magdalena Rodriguez

This day was made for you and me
Before our existence came to be.
His love and grace He shared with all
regardless how He knew we'd fall.

This sacrifice to give His life
a master plan to end the strife,
That caused us to be far from Him
to cleanse and restore all lost from sin.

This day was not a day of sorrow,
It resembled a "Hope for Tomorrow"
For through the stripes and blood He shed
He brought us all back from the dead.

Who'd ever thought a wooden cross
Would resemble such a cause.
With joy and praises let us sing
To our Redeemer, Christ our King.

Coming Against Your Spiritual Giants

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  (Ephesians 6:11-14)

Somewhere along your journey you will come against many spiritual giants as you go about doing the good works God has prepared in advance for you to do (Eph.2:10).  These giants come standing to intimidate you.  It's not a personal battle but a spiritual one. This fight has little to do with you but everything to do with Who resides in you!  The enemy despises God.  Therefore he desires to disgrace Him by utilizing what God has created to bring honor to Himself: YOU!

There IS an Army Rising UP!

Can you hear it?  It's a calling from above - a sound that thunders deep in your spirit to ARISE woman of God, Arise!

The LORD, our Commander and Chief is gathering up those mighty women who have withstood the trials and test - who as broken vessels have determined to follow Jesus at whatever cost.  Because of their commitment to uphold the covenant they have made with God - they determined themselves to abide in Christ, knowing that it is only in the abiding that they are able to hold up against the vigorous training and withstand the wiles of the enemy.

Unity Through Humility

"Fill up and complete my joy by living in harmony and being of the same mind and one in purpose, having the same love, being in full accord and of one harmonious mind and intention." (Phil.2:2 AMP)

The Apostle Paul had a deep commitment to spiritual unity.  He told the Philipian Christians that they would fulfill his joy if they would be “like-minded”, of “one accord,” and of “one mind”.  This is consistent with the fervent prayer of our Lord Jesus as He prayed for spiritual unity (John17:20-23).  It is also consistent with the experience of the early church (Acts 2:42-47) and with the teaching of the apostles (Eph. 4:3-6; 1Pet.3:8) (Kingdom Dynamics-New Spirit Filled Life Bible NKJV pg. 1661)

What greater fulfillment do we give our Father in Heaven when we like Paul come to a deep commitment to spiritual unity.   Jesus prayed for us to come into this unity because there is power in it.  He is OUR greatest testimony of what obedience, humility and unity can accomplish.

We as women of God have been purposed to accomplish a task for the Kingdom both individually and corporately.  But our effectiveness is dependent upon our unity.  It requires us to humble ourselves - not thinking ourselves to be better than our sister or thinking that our task is greater than theirs. (Phil. 2:3)

We must take interest not only in our own assignments but the assignments of our fellow sisters. (Phil. 2:4)   It’s putting on the mind of Christ (Phil.2:5) and becoming a servant; not consuming ourselves in making for ourselves a reputation (Phil 2:7) for the word of God says our gifts will make room for us(Prov. 18:16)   BUT coming to a place of humility and becoming obedient even unto the point of death.(Phil.2:8)  Yes death! Death of our flesh; our ambitions; our desires; our will; our “self”….making ourselves into nothing so that God can make us into something - fulfilling His will; His desire; His Plan; His joy….

Therefore if you are being pressed on every side be careful that you are not rebuking the devil thinking it is him causing the pressure.  Instead ask the Lord to see the source behind it.  It just may be Father because He has need to empty you out of “self” and bring you to a place of humility and obedience in order to walk in spiritual unity with one another and HIM.

Just as Father had a work for Jesus that caused him to come to a place of humility and obedience  - He has a work for you; for me – for US!
